Gone Digital!!!!
Oh my word... I AM SO EXCITED!! I have always wanted to dabble a tiny bit into digital scrapbooking. No worries, I would never give up my beloved paper scrapbooking... I love texture, papers and all those goodies way to much to ever switch over... BUT, like I said I have always wanted to try digital. I have actually tried a couple times and failed miserably. I just couldn't find a tutorial that worked right for me. I needed a really dumbed-down version so I could understand exactly what I was doing LOL. SO, today I don't know what came over me. I'm not feeling very well and I was tired of laying on the couch. I didn't feel like going upstairs to scrapbook so on a whim I decided to try this again. I found this tutorial on the Shabby Princess site. I also found most of the digital goodies (free) from Shabby Princess as well. I fell in love with the vintage Halloween theme kit so that made me want to finish a page more than ever. I know it's a pretty simple page but I feel overwhelmingly excited to have completed my first digital page!!!
Today we'll be doing some fun things like Larissa's first pumpkin carving, painting pumpkins and general Halloween craftiness. I'll be sure to get lots of photos for future layouts although they will most likely be of the paper variety. I will try to do a few more digital pages so I don't forget what I learned already.
I hope you all have a spooktacular Halloween and a great CREEP-end - as I am being told by my sister that this weekend has been switched to a creepend ;)
p.s. did you notice that vintage Halloween print on the digital page is very similar to my blog background... I really wish I could find some real sb paper that is similar. If you have to know of any I would love if you left me a link to it in the comment post :)

LCOM - October Kit
Halloween is fast approaching so with that in mind here is the October Kit for Let's Capture Our Memories. These kits are already sold out so if you want to get on the list we are taking sign ups for kits starting in December.
Just so you know I am not way ahead on my Halloween scrapping...these are last year's photos :) My little Larissa was a "Lil Stinker". What a fun Halloween costume. I love that she is still small enough that I can pick out her costumes with very little fuss from her. This is a photo of her walking to the doctor's office last Halloween. She had an appointment so we had to get all 'skunked' up and head out on the town. The strip of house pattern paper is by American Crafts.... what an awesome sheet of pattern paper! I think it's the best single piece of Halloween pattern paper that I have ever seen.
And another of my lil stinker posing with some pumpkins. Just a little tip... dress your little one up and take them outside a few days before Halloween and get some great pics before the big night. That way you will have some pictures in the daylight and without having to chase around a sugar crazed child.
Witching Hour: Me the witch posing with my lil stinker. Confession here...I don't like dressing up for Halloween but I do throw on a few little things just to entertain my little one.
And here are a few cards that I made with some of the kit leftovers :)

MCS - October Main Kit
This is My Creative Scrapbook's main kit for October. Another absolutely stunning box of products!! These kits are always sold out fast fast FAST so if you want to join in on the fun you need to sign up in advance.
Here is what I created with this kit. You can also check out what the rest of the DT at MCS did with this kit too :)
For the background to this layout, I used the box that the kit came in and pulled most of the top part of the cardboard off to reveal the corrugated portion.
These little brushes of gold on the flowers and throughout the layout are created with this product that I have called "Silk" by Rubber Stampede. It is a really old product that I purchased about 10 years ago. It is in a little nail polish like bottle and pretty much works just like nail polish but on paper products of course :) It has a beautiful shimmer to it.
I made this little journaling card and used the tulle to help keep it in place but it is completely removable. I used the "Silk" around the edges of this card as well.
Our Flower Child: I tried a little something different with this circle. I cut the foreground pattern paper and distressed the edge of the circle to reveal the pattern paper behind it.
More "Silk" product used on the flowers and other embellies.
I hope you are a all having a wonderful Monday...or at least as wonderful as Mondays can get. I find myself terribly sick again :( I was feeling almost all better on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, which worked out wonderfully so I could attend the crop/class etc. but when I woke up on Sunday it's started all over again. I have to say that I had the most wonderful time at the LCOM crop!! So many awesome and hilarious people to hang out with, awesome food and of course, SHOPPING!!!!!!!! I will be sure to be at their next crop as well!

I'm teaching a boy/girl class today :)
I'm off to New Brunswick today to teach a class for Let's Capture Our Memories. Here's what I'll be doing. The classes run together since the layouts are the same but the participants have the choice of a girl kit or a boy kit both featuring lots of yummy Bella Blvd papers.
When I was preparing the layouts, I made the girl layout first (naturally right!?!) but what I didn't expect was how much I LOVE the boy kit..in fact, I actually prefer it *GASP!* Blue is not a colour that I work a lot with but I just love how it turned out. I'm sure it didn't slip past you that they are double layouts as well...not something that I do often but I wanted the class participants to walk away with two pages without having to be tortured by me for too terribly long! Of course there will be glitter work, paper folding and making our own flower embellies.
(I'm sorry about these wonky photos..they are a little crooked and the colour is a bit off)
That Girl...she means the world to me. Can you tell I had a Chilliwack song stuck in my head when I sat down to do this layout...I am such a geek! :D
Some of the Little Men in our lives (nephews on my side)
(OK, I know the ribbon is really crooked in this pic but I fixed it IRL after I notice how bad it looked in the photos!)
A few eye candy shots... my favourite way to view the scrappy world :)
If you're one of my New Brunswick readers perhaps I'll see you today!!

Let's capture Our Memories - September
The Wonder of a {fall} Walk: Fall is our favourite time to go for walks. Sadly this fall has been overly rainy and cold plus we have been extremely busy so I had to use fall walk photos from last year :( Hopefully we get a few more nice days without cold rain and blowing gales so we can get some '09 photos!
details shots...my favourite part about this kit was the leaves. I actually designed the whole kit around these leaves!
Frolic: What child doesn't love to frolic in the leaves, toss them around and jump in them!?! Larissa was so excited when I said, go ahead, make as much mess as you want..roll in them..do whatever you want :D
Fall: the simple pleasures
I just love all the little vintage-y cut outs from the Cosmo Cricket Paper (Earth Love)
Everything here was created with the September kit from Let's Capture Our Memories. This kit was sold out before it even hit the store so if you want to get in on future kits you need to sign up! Starting in December we will be doubling the number of kits available so it's a great time to sign up.

September Limited Edition Kit
My Creative Scrapbook has the most beautiful limited edition kits. They are so pretty and dreamy... I just love working with them!
Hugs: Larissa getting in some hugs & cuddle time with her daddy. I just love this photo. There are lots of close ups to enjoy here :)
When she wishes.... this sweet lil girl cannot pass up a 'wish'. It just melts my heart when I hear her whispered wishes "I wish for cookies..teddy bears...".

September Creative Kit
I am battling an awful sinus infection but I am trying to keep this blog updated so I am getting this quick post up here to keep my word!! This is what I created with the My Creative Scrapbook's September Creative Kit. Beautiful and bright... I had so much fun designing with this kit.
Gold Cup Day: The Gold Cup & Saucer parade is the big parade day here. This is little Larissa and her cousin waving to the parade participants. Of course, had to get a little glitter action in there ;)
Ready to Go: Little Missy had dressed herself so I just had to snap this sweet photo...love the plastic purse, plastic necklace and plastic shoes!! :D
And a little accordion album whipped up using the left overs from this kit.
