belated updates....

Dearest blog readers,

I am so very sorry for my lack of updates in recent weeks (months!?!?). I have been working and my online presence has greatly declined. I have been gently chastised by my dear friends for my lack of posts so I resolve to do a little better in the coming weeks. I still have lots of fun projects to show you but I just haven't had the extra time to sit down and get them assembled into a coherent post. It's so late in the evening by the time I can sit down to work on the computer that I'm falling asleep!!

So without further ado, I will share some work that I did for September...and I will have lots of updates in the coming days so stay tuned!! (No longer will you be greeted with the Ariel cake layout Holly!!)

This is the work for My Creative Scrapbook's Main Kit (September...see I'm way behind). What a gorgeous and fun kit to work with featuring Pink Paislee's Amber Road.

Top of the World: I have had this picture sitting on my scrappy desk for over a year and I finally found the right paper/embellies to get it scrapped. It is Larissa hanging out on a bale of straw last fall and in this photo she was actually starting to slide down the side of the bale much to her distress (and my amusement).

This little altered project (accordion book) was a lot of fun to do. It is simple to make with a few folded pieces of cardstock and cardboard covers.

Nanny & Me: This is a layout of Larissa and her Nanny (my mother) :) It's hard to get my Mom in a photo so I was pleased to get this one summer day even though their faces turned out a little dark. I just love this die cut that came in the kit by Collage Press.
I must say sorry for the photos of this kit. I was having a particularly hard time getting this photographed because by the time I was getting home from work the sun was starting to set so my lighting wasn't the best. I wasn't able to get the close up shots that are normally my favourite ones to post.

I feel so lucky to design for such an amazing kit club like My Creative Scrapbook. If you are interested in kits at all, I would highly recommend MCS. Their kits never disappoint!

The Ariel Cake

Larissa wanted an Ariel cake for her 4th birthday... not just any Ariel cake, an Ariel & Prince Eric wedding cake. I had a lot of fun with this layout. I cut out around the cake so it would be it's own embellishment :) Paper used here is Black River Designs, Pink Paislee and October Afternoon. The chipboard circles are by Sandylion and they are a one of my most favourite purchases EVER.

our little aritist

It just makes my hear soar to see my little gal loving to colour, scrapbook and do crafts...I just can't help but snap lots of photos of her creating. I used a few sheets from a Fancy Pants tear out notebook on this... I HAVE to use that pad up or I will feel insanely guilty for spending $13.00 on it! :) The scallop die cut is Making Memories and the bee pattern paper inside of it is Basic Grey (Urban Prairie).

a few cards to share....

I felt like doing something creative last night but I was a little tired and didn't feel like scrapbooking. I find that cardmaking is a nice little change from layouts. All three of these cards were created using the August kit at Let's Capture Our Memories. There are still a few left so if you want to get in on the fun you can purchase it here. Here is a look at the kit contents and the layouts I created with it.

mmm....lemonade :)

WOW - that is how I would sum up this kit in one word! This was an all time favourite of mine and I managed 5 layouts and a mini album just from what you see pictured above. This is the August Limited Edition kit for My Creative Scrapbook....it's long sold out but if you want to hop on board you need to sign up and get on that waiting list so you don't get left out!! This kit features the gorgeous Basic Grey Lemonade with FOUR BG LACE DOILY DIE CUTS!! Plus there is an entire package luscious Webster's trims in this kit!! Can you feel my excitement about it !?! So here is what I created with this kit :)

Just Us: A family photo from a couple years ago at a family wedding. We are lucky to have had a family wedding every summer for three years now so we get lots of great photos (one wedding coming up this Friday actually) :)

Yummy: Missy Larissy licking her ice cream bowl (photos by my sister Jocelyne Kenny) She may have gotten this bad habit from her mother.......

Lemonade: The namesake of this paper line was perfect for the title since Larissa's favourite drink this summer is lemonade :)

Island Girl: (no explination necessary...you all know how much I love my little Island here)

Stunning Beauty: I just love this photo of Larissa. After a little photo shoot in our livingroom she sprawled out on the backdrop and I snapped this candid shot of her. The funny part is she looks like she has an up-do but is was just the way her hair was falling on the floor.

Star Mini Album: And lastly, here is the star mini album that I made with the leftovers from this kit.

Let's Capture Our Memories - August Kit

I have a few layouts to share using the August Kit from Let's Capture Our Memories. It is a fun mix of colours with a bit of black and brown mixed in :) There is a limited number of these kits available so if you like it then you'd better snatch it up quickly!! LCOM is a wonderful place to hang ... great chatty gals, oodles of fun, contests and challenges!!

Want some lemon pie Keaton? LOL... I snapped this hilarious shot of Larissa feeding her cousin some lemon pie...she's a little mother hen by times. Check out the awesome dot textured Bazzill...I just love this stuff.

Summer Babes: Larissa and her little cousin hanging out on the deck just a few sunny days ago. All the photos in these layouts were taken within the past few days...I really enjoy scrapping brand new pictures. They are so inspiring when they are so fresh from the camera!

Bride: I was so impressed with how kind my new sister-in-law was to the children on her wedding day. She was so attentive to all them and let them crawl all over her which was so sweet...this just worship the ground she walks on.

Another wedding photo (You'll be seeing a lot of these in days to come)

There are still a couple more days to get in on the draw for the Prima stamp set and Memory Makers magazine....just leave a comment a on this post for your chance to win.

Enchanted - Upsy Daisy Designs

Confessions of a purple hater - I really like this paper... I know, I can't believe it either but when I started to work with this paper, I was lovin what was happening with it! I just love using it with some black and gold, truly enchanting!

A couple of my very best friends, my sisters :)

I love you "You are the bestest mom I never had" LOL (pretty sure she means 'ever had' there) She is always telling me how beautiful I am and how much she loves me... what a little sweet heart.

Upsy Daisy products used: Enchanted papers, Floral Flourish stamps. I also used Spellbinders dies on both layouts as a design team pair up. The dies I used were Labels 3. Also, if you haven't had a chance yet, there is still time to check out the Upsy Daisy Designs Design Team call!
