Paws on Scrapbooking - more September DT stuff

Here are few other things I created with the September DT kit which featured Daisy Bucket pattern papers. The mini book has a lot of stamping with paint in it. To see more of the mini book check it out at http://www.pawsonscrapbooking.com/cgi-bin/bb/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=187;t=9686

Getting back to scrapping....

August has been a very busy month. I haven't scrapped for the past three weeks. When I sat down to create these layouts I felt totally out of the loop - like I hadn't scrapped in years. Just a few fun layouts using up lots of goodies from my stash.

.............it's coming.......................

I AM SO EXCITED!!! The fall edition of Canadian Scrapbooker is printed and should be arriving on store shelves around September 1st. I can't wait to see my three layouts in there (1 Halloween and 2 Autumn) and my sis, Jocelyne has two layouts in there as well. WOOT WOOT!!!

more Fancy Pants cards

I love photographing my cards outside so I set them up on my window boxes. I will be very sad when the colder weather comes and I won't be able to do that anymore.

more Fancy Pants cards

Here are some more of the cards I made using mostly Fancy Pants products.

Greeting Cards using Fancy Pants products

Here are a few greeting cards that I created using more Fancy Pants products. Most of them will probably end up just sitting in my craft room and lookin pretty ;)

Busy busy summer

Wow, it's almost mid-August. How frightening! Prince Edward Island has such a short summer...barely two months and it just zooms by. We recently returned from our annual camping trip to Pugwash, Nova Scotia. I can't believe it's over already. I did a few layouts after I returned home...here they are using mainly Fancy Pants products :)

....more altered jars

I enjoyed making the altered Mason jar so much that I made a few more. Here are some pics of the 3 little ones I made earlier today. They are made with the tall baby food jars. I don't have a baby anymore..she's 3 1/2 but I have learned that sneaking a jar of sweet potatoes into her spaghetti sauce goes quite unnoticed...sly aren't I!? This way, she's getting some precious extra veggies tucked lovingly into her dinners....a Mom's gotta do what a Mom's gotta do! So, here are today's creations.

Altered Jar, featuring American Crafts

*Reduce*Reuse*Recycle

This is a Mason jar that had spaghetti sauce in it. I don't need any more Mason jars so I decided to stick a few pretty things to it and keep it for my craft room. The papers are by Amercian Crafts including the cut out flowers. I added Making Memories pebble epoxy stickers to the centre and Kaiser pearls. The bright and cheery American Craft paper is just perfect for this fun project because the paper is double sided. The pink side of the paper makes the jar look lit up...all pretty in pink. To ensure the paper stuck to the jar I used lots of glue dots.

Life in Pictures

Here is another 3D flower layout. I stamped these calla lilly stamps (PSX) in black ink with brass embossing powder. I painted the leaves with watercolours and the flowers are painted with Radiant Pearls. For those of you how are no familiar with Radiant Pearls, they are like a shimmery paint and they will dry by themselves in about 24 hours or you can emboss them. I used clear detail embossing powder over them. Then I cut out each flower and leaf and layered them until the layered using hot glue to give added dimension. The chipboard circle is covered in criss-crossed sheer ribbon. The "my life in pictures' stamp is stamped on acetate with Staz-on ink and backed with a piece of K&Co pattern paper. The yellow butterfly & journaling spot are K&Co Wild Safron collection (a personal fav of mine). The swirl stamps are by Autumn Leaves and are also stamped on acetate with Staz-on and then cut out. The green pattern papers are Fancy Pants (sweet pea - Claire). This picture is little Larissa sitting on tree stump in my sisters backyard. It's hard to get a picture when she is smiling and still has her eyes open.

Everyday

This is another 3D flower layout... the flowers are stamped, embossed and painted with watercolours and iridescent paint. They are layered with hot glue to give them dimension. There are drops of glossy accents on the flowers & in the centers as well as Kaiser pearls in the centers of the flowers. Basic Grey stamp, Heidi Swapp Chipboard, Rubber Stampede stamp, Kaiser pearls, K&Co fabric swatch, Me&My Big Ideas & Prima pattern paper, Creative Cafe word strip. The flowers have glitter glue (Stickles) along the edges, glossy accents drops and pearl centers.

Journaling: Larissa, as I watch you go about your day, I cannot but continuously thank God for bringing you to us. You have brought us so much happiness. Always know how much you are loved...everyday. Spring '08

Published x 3

WOOT WOOT!! Canadian Scrapbooker has accepted three of my layouts for their Fall '08 magazine. My sister, Jocelyne also has two layouts being published in the same issue along with a photograph of her sweet Benjamin dressed up as a lion for Halloween. We are both thrilled to have our layouts published together!!!! The layouts are already sent to Alberta for photographing so now we just need to wait patiently for September 1, the release date!!! Here are some sneak peaks of what will be published :)

I am published!

It was pretty exciting back in February to learn that I would have a layout published in Canadian Scrapbooker, summer '08 magazine!!! I signed over the copyright and shipped out my layout in a pizza box. I was so nervous that the magazine would come out and my layout wouldn't be in it..... oh we didn't think it was good enough in real life...there wasn't enough room in the magazine, sorry we had to bump you... I kept dreaming up all these ways that it could go wrong. Well, I have the magazine in my hands now (two copies actually!) WOOT WOOT!!! I'm pretty sure that I am the first scrapbooker from PEI to have a layout published in Canadian Scrapbooker. Here's the layout they published. "Canadian Kids" Larissa, Keaton & Khristian during Canada Day celebrations, Summer '07 in Georgetown, PEI.
